The Bible says that without vision we perish. Webster describes perish as follows: “to deteriorate or spoil; to pass gradually from existence…” In Matthew 18:14, though, Jesus said, “In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.”
So, vision—the way in which we see or conceive of something—is a valuable part of our lives. It is so important that we connect to the vision God has for us, and connect our vision to His purpose.
In John 10:27, Jesus also said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
Make this portion of our vision your prayer this week, “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord and help me to help others encounter you. We are a church where hurting, broken people can come and be loved back to health and wholeness and I want to be part of your purpose and plan.”
