We look around at the state of our country and the world today and it is easy to say that the world is covered with darkness. It is getting increasingly dark-er but “night” has not set yet. Darkness is simply the absence of light. And guess what? We’re not dead yet! We’re still here! What does that have to do with it?
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden…let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” – Matthew 5:14 & 16
YOU, dear Christian, filled with the light and glory of Jesus, are the light of the world. YOU, precious saint, get to keep darkness at bay, because everyday we have the opportunity to shine brighter and brighter.
There is, “…nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured…our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like Him.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18
So, take heart, dear one, because there is zero competition between that LIGHT that is IN YOU and the darkness around you!
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” – John 1:5
